Southern Pub In Myrtle Beach
The crowning moment was in 2019, when 44 & King opened its doors as the first Southern pub in Myrtle Beach. The legacy of the name came from the actual location on the corner of 44th Avenue and Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach at Magnolia Row.
It soon became more of a destination than a mere location, with the pub’s courtyard shaded under an inviting family of live oaks and magnolias. There are cornhole boards set up on the lawn, bocce ball on the brick, seating on a screened-in covered front porch, the smell of smoked meat from a wood-burning grill, and music floating from outdoor speakers.
Owner Brown Bethune envisioned 44 & King as the perfect gathering place to drink, dine, and relax – inside and out. Where it’s hip, but not pretentious. It’s creative without trying too hard. It’s a fusion of industrial and comfortable design, with terracotta-colored ceilings, punches of peacock blue, and detailed craftsmanship at every turn.
Here at 44 & King, we pride ourselves on serving a menu of elevated Southern comfort pub grub with true Southern hospitality. Y’all will feel right at home with our royal treatment and want to come back for more of our homemade Lowcountry cooking handcrafted from fresh, local ingredients and our modern craft cocktails and beer from local breweries and distilleries that shake things up at the bar.
Long live 44 & King!
